Starting to actually like blogging. Didn’t think it possible as i was completely terrified of it. I guess I was scaried of the unknown. Still trying to work out how to find out if anyone looks at my blog and still trying to work out how to comment on other peoples. I tried to comment […]

My company is called (ABT) Advance Braking Technology, based in Perth Western Australia. ABT manufactures and distributes sealed integrated braking systems. The different between my companies’ braking system and the average braking system is that it is sealed and holds oil within the system itself plus has fail safe qualities. ABT has worked on developing this braking system since 1991 and achieved awarding winning recognition with, “1996 International Society of Automotive Engineers”- Most Innovative ideas in Engineering, received a 2 million dollar Commonwealth grant to develop SIBS for heavy vehicles and they are also a commonwealth registered research agency. My company initially started sales in Australian within the mining sector with vehicles such as heavy trucks. In 2005 new CEO and Management was put into place (I’m not sure why there was such a significant change). ABT is controlled by four directors and four managers with qualities that extend to Bachelors in Law, Economic with honours, Accounting, Commerce, Business and vast knowledge in engineering and technology. Sadly my company is male dominated. ABT expanded into international sales into countries such as North America, South Africa and recently to South America and all over Europe. ABT manufactures their product in Thailand. I’m guessing this would be due to costs. Since 2005 sales have grown significantly. With 4 million dollar external funding in 2014 ABT adjusted their braking system to develop a new braking system for garbage trucks and expanded into a wet brake for heavy vehicle trailers and domestic trucks. Looking at the director’s report for this year (2017) to me it looks as if over the last couple of years sales have been up and down but definitely an increase. In comparison to January/February last year (2016) and January/February this year (2017) sales seem to have tripled. Whether this is a continued pattern I don’t know, as according to past finances, sales spike up and down through each year. I have looked through a lot of my companies financial records but have yet to completely understand them. I’m really looking forward to Wednesday morning class as we will be transforming all this information into excel and hopefully it will all make sense. At this stage it looks as if my company sales are good due to expanding internationally but cost are really high not leaving a huge amount left for investors at the end of the day. Whether I’m right, I don’t know, as I’m no expert YET!! Go check it out ;) http://www.advancedbraking.com/
